This is an illustrative take on Edgar Rice Burroughs’ classic text about a man raised in the African jungle by a tribe of apes.
It has always been a dream of mine to illustrate a written work, so I took the opportunity to give new life to this old text.
After studying various jungle animals and 1800s fashion, I created abstract illustrations of the famous story from sketch to finished piece. I worked with one color palette to maintain design consistency.
From the page layout and design to full and half page illustrations, this book was created by myself and published by Blurb Inc. in a matter of weeks.
